Netflix Layoffs Hit Publicity Department


Netflix's PR operation underwent layoffs Thursday. About 10 people were impacted across series and film publicity, sources said.

- Netflix reported billion-dollar profits and booming subscriber growth on October 19 that beat forecasts as global hits like Squid Game drew viewers in droves. The layoffs were being implemented while Netflix Chief Content Officer Bela Bajaria was making news at the Bloomberg Screentime event earlier Thursday morning, announcing several series pickups and renewals. In April, Netflix laid off 15 people in its film department as part of reorganization after Dan Lin took over for Scott Stuber.
