Netflix Huddles Up With Dallas Cowboys Docuseries
Netflix will stream with the upcoming untitled documentary series about the Dallas Cowboys that focuses on owner Jerry Jones amd the team's 1990s dynasty.
The streamer said during its upfront today that it is teaming with Skydance Sports, NFL Films and Stardust Frames Productions on the upcoming documentary series about the Dallas Cowboys. Billed as a “defining” docuseries, the untitled project tells the story of team owner Jerry Jones and his unique journey in transforming the Cowboys franchise, leading a historic set of players and coaches to three NFL titles in the 1990s and searing his imprint into the global sports business landscape. No premiere date is set for the 10-episode series, which features never-before-seen footage and interviews with 35-year owner, president and general manager Jones along with players, coaches and rivals of the 1990s including Pro Football Hall of Famers Troy Aikman, Michael Irvin, Emmitt Smith, Deion Sanders and head coach Jimmy Johnson as well as such political and pop culture figures as President George W. Bush, Nike founder Phil Knight and media mogul Rupert Murdoch.
