Netflix Could Have Made ‘A Knight’s Tale’ Sequel — Without Heath Ledger

Netflix could have made ‘A Knight’s Tale’ sequel without the late Heath Ledger, screenwriter Brian Helgeland revealed

“When we finished A Knight’s Tale, we were already thinking about making the sequel as a pirate film,” Helgeland, 63, shared during an interview with Inverse, published on Monday, April 22. Before he won a posthumous Oscar for his portrayal of Joker in The Dark Knight, Heath Ledger was just a wide-eyed Australian boy trying to make it big in Hollywood. The Australian star died at age 28 in January 2002 following an accidental drug overdose from the “combined effects of oxycodone, hydrocodone, diazepam, temazepam, alprazolam and doxylamine,” a toxicology report revealed.
