Carr wrote on X, “The purpose of the rule is to avoid exactly this type of biased and partisan conduct – a licensed broadcaster using the public airwaves to exert its influence for one candidate on the eve of an election. There is a substantial news exemption to the equal time rules, one that has included late night talk shows. In his X post, Carr argued that the show was trying to evade the requirements by having Harris on so close to the election.
