Natasha Lyonne Directing ‘Poker Face’ Season 2 Episode As Rian Johnson Kicks Off Filming
Natasha Lyonne is back in the driver's seat as her Peacock procedural Poker Face begins production on Season 2.
Rian Johnson celebrated the the first day of filming the sophomore season on Monday, sharing a photo of the show’s clapboard, which listed Lyonne as the director for episode two. Inspired by the inverted detective format of Columbo and similarly described by Johnson as a “howcatchem” (as opposed to the “whodunit” structure of Knives Out and Glass Onion), Poker Face follows Vegas casino worker and human bullshit detector Charlie Cale (Lyonne) as she runs from the mob while solving a string of murders along the way. Lyonne, who also serves as a writer and executive producer on the show, previously directed the Season 1 episode ‘The Orpheus Syndrome’, which featured Nick Nolte, Luis Guzmán and Cherry Jones.
