NAACP Podcast ‘Our Culture, Our Stories’ to Feature Sterling K. Brown, Roy Wood Jr., Ruth Carter, Dawn Porter and More
NAACP podcast series “Our Culture, Our Stories” will feature conversations with Sterling K. Brown, Roy Wood Jr., Dawn Porter, Ruth Carter and more.
Guests appearing in the 12-episode series include: actors Sterling K. Brown, Ryan Michelle Bathé, Hill Harper and Aja Naomi King; comedian Roy Wood Jr.; documentary filmmaker Dawn Porter; Oscar-winning costume designer Ruth Carter; academic and TV personality Henry Louis Gates; journalists Scott Evans and Trymaine Lee; authors Dr. Ibram X. Kendi, Brea Baker and LaDarrion Williams; and actor-social activist Kendrick Sampson. The inaugural episode of “Our Culture, Our Stories” features Image Award winner Sterling K. Brown and his wife, actor Ryan Michelle Bathé, who “share insights into navigating the demands of Hollywood while upholding their values, principles and artistic integrity,” according to the NAACP. Regarding the podcast’s launch, Kyle Bowser, senior VP of the NAACP Hollywood Bureau, said, “Black entertainers serve as proxies on behalf of a 42 million member community that consistently generates brilliant cultural assets ravenously consumed around the world.
