My Kitchen Rules fans dub new season 'scripted and fake' following ratings struggle - as judge Manu Feildel lambasts contestants for serving up 'wet cardboard'

My Kitchen Rules is back on television screens for a new season in 2024.

The pair served up Townsville mud crab with mango chilli dip as an entrée and a main of filet mignon with garlic prawn toppers, beer battered wedges and bacon broccoli salad. MKR did not even finish in the top ten most-watched programs overnight, a far cry from its ratings heyday a decade ago when it would pull in well over a million viewers an episode. The episode ended in disaster after Danny ignored judge Colin Fassnidge's advice and put the expensive cut of meat into the oven before searing it.
