The music world is in mourning following the loss of legendary Grateful Dead bassist Phil Lesh, who has passed away, leaving an indelible mark on rock and roll with his decades-spanning career. Another wrote: "RIP Phil Lesh, the cerebral, avant-garde, post-Beat genius who took the Dead's sound far beyond psych-blues and folk into weird empyrean realms of free jazz and classical. The trailblazing American rockers, The Grateful Dead were established back in 1965 - featuring musical greats Jerry Garcia, Bob Weir, Bill Kreutzmann and Ron McKernan, with Phil Lesh.
