Disney's animated musical 'Wish' debuted on Disney+ with 13.2 million views across its first five days, coming in behind 'Encanto' and 'Frozen 2.'
Disney revealed on Monday that its musical animated feature Wish, starring Ariana DeBose ( West Side Story) and Chris Pine ( Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves) garnered 13.2 million views globally in its first five days streaming on Disney+. Earlier this year securing a Golden Globe nomination for Best Animated Feature, Wish takes place in the magical kingdom of Rosas, where Asha (DeBose), a sharp-witted idealist, makes a wish so powerful that it is answered by a cosmic force — a little ball of boundless energy called Star. While Disney had high hopes for Wish, a title tied to the studio’s centennial, the film wound up disappointing critically and commercially, even as it grossed over $253 million worldwide.
