Music promoter reveals the real reason Australian festivals are getting cancelled after Splendour In The Grass becomes latest music event to fall: 'They're too diverse'

A music promoter has revealed the reason why he believes Splendour In The Grass was cancelled.

'Yes Falls, Groovin, and now Splendour (not to mention countless smaller ones) go under, but Pink just did 20 stadium shows, Taylor Swift did 600,000+ tix, Fred again 100,000+ in a day.. it's both, but it's more cultural than cost of living.' It is the latest in a long line of Aussie music festivals to have been axed, after Groovin the Moo was forced to cancel just two months before it was set to kick off. She urged fans to support local artists and events as well as huge global names as she warned that Australia won't 'have any festivals' left amid the cancellations.
