Music legend who worked with Black Eyes Peas and James Bond song dies
Sergio Mendes, the legendary Brazilian musician who worked with The Black Eyed Peas, has died at the age of 83, with his death being confirmed in a report from TMZ
Known for his unique blend of samba-style bossa nova music often fused with funk, Sergio worked with a plethora of iconic artists, including jazz legend Herb Alpert. He was invited to perform at the famous Bossa Nova Festival in Carnegie Hall in 1962, where he shared the stage with Joao Gilberto, Antonio Carlos Jobim, Stan Getz, and Charlie Byrd. It was around this period that Sergio crossed paths with Nesuhi Ertegun, the owner and President of Atlantic Records, who signed him up and produced his debut American album - 'The Swinger From Rio'.
