Music legend dies aged 78 as bandmate pays emotional tribute


Alfa Anderson, the female lead of the iconic disco group Chic, has passed away at the age of 78, which her bandmate Nile Rogers has confirmed in a touching tribute

Nile Rogers, co-founder of Chic, took to Instagram to share his heartbreak, posting a touching video tribute filled with throwback snaps of Alfa and the group, captioned with "#soul #memories #wearefamily". She even lectured at Hunter College whilst juggling weekend gigs and backing vocals for stars like Luther Vandross and Dionne Warwick. Alfa's bandmate Nile performed during Queen Elizabeth II's Jubilee concert in 2022, sharing a sneak peek at the stage earlier in the day.
