Music Australia addresses Splendour in the Grass' shock cancellation as it becomes the latest Aussie music festival to get the axe


The long-running music spectacular had been due to take place from July 19 to 21 at the North Byron Parklands, with Kylie Minogue headlining.

In the past, Splendour has nabbed a slew of international acts including Kendrick Lamar, Tyler the Creator, Flume, Queens of the Stone Age and The Smashing Pumpkins. This year's festival line up copped criticism over its lack of renowned headlining international acts, with American rapper Future, 40, being one of the only global stars slated to perform Aussie rock legends Jet were set to play alongside Australian music heavyweights such as San Cisco, DMA's, The Jungle Giants and King Stingray.
