Much-loved Star Trek and ER actress dies as distraught fans pay tribute


Patti Yasutake, who was best known for her role as Nurse Alyssa Ogawa in Star Trek: The Next Generation, has died at the age of 70 following a battle with cancer

Patti, beloved for her role as Nurse Alyssa Ogawa in Star Trek: The Next Generation, died on Monday, 5 August, after a battle with cancer, her representative confirmed. More recently, she featured as George's mother, Fumi Nakai, in the critically-acclaimed Netflix series Beef and garnered an Independent Spirit Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress for her performance in the 1998 film The Wash. Her vast television career spanned appearances on high-profile shows such as Bones, Grey's Anatomy, and NCIS: Los Angeles, among others, while her movie credits included roles in Drop Dead Gorgeous and Blind Spot.
