The MTV Movie & TV Awards ceremony is being put “on pause” this year, but it is expected to return “with a reimagined format" in 2025.
The MTV Movie & TV Awards ceremony is being put “on pause” this year, according to a spokesperson, as Billboard reports. Prior to last year’s modified version of the ceremony, the show featured Vanessa Hudgens and Tayshia Adams as co-hosts in 2022. In October, the network’s parent company Paramount announced it canceled the 2023 MTV Europe Music Awards (EMAs) set for Paris in light of the ongoing Israel-Gaza conflict; it was the first time in EMAs three-decade history that the event was canceled.
