The hiring of Alemany is the latest as MSNBC President Rebecca Kutler looks to build up a news division in preparation for a spinoff from parent Comcast later this year. She is currently part of the Post’s White House team, and she previously covered congressional investigations. The current co-hosts of The Weekend — Symone Sanders Townsend, Alicia Menendez and Michael Steele — are moving to a nighttime slot at 7 p.m.
