Mrs Brown's Boys' Gary Hollywood breaks silence on show's 'racial slur' after producer 'walked out'

EXCLUSIVE: Former star of Mrs Brown's Boys has spoken out following reports that the show's creator Brendan O'Carroll had to say sorry after making a "clumsy joke"

Scottish actor Gary Hollywood once played hairdresser Dino Doyle in the award-winning sitcom Mrs Brown’s Boys, but these days he's firmly focusing on fatherhood. It was reported that Brendan O'Carroll, the star and creator of Mrs Brown's Boys, had to say sorry after a "clumsy joke" during a script read-through led to a racism probe at the BBC. Speaking to the Mirror, Brendan shared his remorse: "At a read-through of the Mrs Brown's Boys Christmas specials, there was a clumsy attempt at a joke, in the character of Agnes, where a racial term was implied."
