Series creator James Graham, who hails from Mansfield and drew on two actual 2004 murders for the show's initial outing, this time turns the spotlight on gang conflicts within his Nottinghamshire roots. Lingering tensions mount, especially around Daphne Sparrow (portrayed by Lorraine Ashbourne), whose series one conclusion dropped the bombshell twist of her being an undercover cop who'd infiltrated the town during the turbulent miners' strikes of the 80's, a truth obscured even from her nearest and dearest. Star Robert Lindsay joins the cast in this seriesMeanwhile, there's fresh drama brewing with the new Sheriff of Nottingham, Lisa Walters (Ria Zmitrowicz), who's fiercely opposing a controversial coal mine proposal.
