Mr Bates vs The Post Office actor Toby Jones, 57, was spotted out running errands in Stockwell, London, on Wednesday, as the series became the most watched of the year.

The ITV show tells the story of a long-running campaign to expose the Horizon IT system scandal, in which hundreds of Post Office staff were wrongfully accused of theft and fraud. 'Aside from it being a ratings hit, dramatising the story with such a high calibre of British actors has reignited the campaign for justice nearly 25 years on, for a group of ordinary people - and the entire nation is behind them.' Varchas Patel, whose father Vipin who was wrongfully convicted of fraud in 2011 after being accused of stealing £75,000 from his Post Office branch in Oxford, said: 'My initial reaction is good, I'm glad.
