Movie star's dog to be spared after his death at 88 - despite his dying wish that pet was killed and buried with him

French movie legend Alain Delon, who died on Sunday 18 August, requested that his favourite dog be killed and buried alongside him but his family have refused his wish

French actor Alain Delon’s family have won their legal fight to stop his healthy dog from being killed so the pup could be buried alongside him. Alain died on Sunday 18 August at the age of 88, and it was revealed that he had asked for his favourite dog, Loubo, to be put down and buried with him at the cemetery at his home in the village of Douchy in northern France. He was engaged to actress Romy Schneider in 1959, with the couple being nicknamed “les amants magnifiques” (the magnificent lovers) in the French press.
