Mountain Fire Destroys 130+ Structures North Of Los Angeles; Thousands Evacuated As Governor Declares State Of Emergency; 7% Containment – Update
Sustained winds over 50 mph drive the Mountain Fire near Camarillo northwest of Los Angeles with spot fires starting two-and-a-half miles in front of the main blaze.
He said it was “a tough fire fight” from the moment emergency personnel arrived on scene this morning in the area between between Moorpark and Somis. Red Flag conditions are “expected to continue through at least sundown tomorrow,” according to VCFD division chief & incident commander Jeff Change. Other concerns include the densely populated Camarillo Heights area and the 101 freeway corridor that connected Los Angeles with Ventura and Santa Barbara.
