Model Sisters Gigi And Bella Hadid To Donate $1 Million To Humanitarian Efforts In Gaza
The supermodels' father Anwar Hadid is Palestinian.
The BBC reports that a spokesperson for Bella states that the money will be shared between four humanitarian organisations with a focus on children and families affected by the ongoing conflict in the region. Bella appeared at the recent Cannes Film Festival dressed in a red and white outfit made of traditional Arabic cloth, and she wrote on Instagram that it was a “beautiful way to represent the history, labour of love, resilience and, most importantly, the art of historic Palestinian embroidery.” Gigi wrote on Instagram after the October 7 attack by Hamas: “My thoughts are with all those affected by this unjustifiable tragedy, and every day that innocent lives are taken by this conflict – too many of which are children.
