The Roots drummer’s dedication was “on behalf” of a list of groups, including “everyone who procreates after a celebratory night in the club,” “all human beings whose hands have the ability to raise up” and “EVERY DJ who needed to spike the punch with adrenaline music to make the energy INSTANTLY rise from a 3 to a way past spinal tap 11.” “It is with profound sadness and very heavy hearts that we share news of the passing of the legendary and iconic Fatman Scoop,” his family wrote on Instagram.
