Miss Americana filmmaker opens up about why Taylor Swift's romance with Joe Alwyn was left out of the Netflix doc

Filmmaker Lana WIlson, 41, has opened up about the year she spent with megastar Taylor Swift, 34, for the Netflix documentary Miss Americana,

Speaking at an intimate screening of Miss Americana on November 23 at New York City's Museum of Moving Image, Lana Wilson, 41, said she 'never conceived' that Taylor could become even more of a cultural phenomenon than she was at the time. It memorably featured Taylor defiantly arguing to her father and management team that she would speak out against then-president Donald Trump and Republican Tennessee Senator candidate Marsha Blackburn ahead of the 2018 midterms. Wilson said: 'I sense that probably part of the reason she wanted a filmmaker known for political work was because she knew I would be sympathetic and not judging and very open and very game and excited to talk about all that stuff with her.'
