Miranda Hart reveals her shock over sitcom being branded 'misogynistic' and addresses her choice to not have children in new memoir

Miranda Hart has opened up about the surprising backlash of misogyny she received after making her hit sitcom.

The comedian, 51, admitted she was shocked after a journalist branded the show misogynistic, as Miranda explained her aim was to create a character being unapologetically herself while struggling to find her place in the world. Tongues were set wagging after she flashed a gold wedding ring on her Instagram last week and now the funny woman has made the shock revelation confirmed her marriage in the final pages of her new book. She added: 'Whenever I told any of my friends I had met someone, they all simply paused, confused and said how it's not a high probability with housebound illness and a global pandemic for a knight in shining armour to appear on the doorstep but he did.'
