Mikey Madison, Kirsten Dunst to Star in Unique Mermaid Thriller ‘Reptilia’ from Imperative, Pastel, Black Bear

Alejandro Landes Echavarría ('Monos') co-wrote the script and will direct the feature, which will be selling at Cannes.

Kirsten Dunst is also starring in the indie that has a power producing team behind it, including Pastel ( Moonlight), Imperative Entertainment ( Killers of the Flower Moon) and international production company AF Films. Based on a script by Landes Echavarría and Duke Merriman, the story tells of a dental hygienist seduced by a mysterious mermaid into the dark and wet underworld of Florida’s exotic animal trade. Imperative, founded by Dan Friedkin and Bradley Thomas, was most recently behind Martin Scorsese’s 10-time Oscar-nominated Killers of the Flower Moon and next has A Big Bold Beautiful Journey, starring Margot Robbie and Colin Farrell, which Sony will release in September.
