Mikey Madison On Killing OG ‘Scream’ Character: “I’m So Sorry, I Didn’t Write The Script”
Mikey Madison was not even born when Scream was released in 1996 and says she naively joined the franchise with 2022's Scream V.
Madison became Ghostface in the fifth installment of the slasher film and ultimately killed one of its OG characters, retired sheriff Dewey Riley, played by David Arquette. “I have to be honest, when I did the film, it sounds naive, but I wasn’t so aware of the huge fan base that the franchise has, that I’ve now been able to discover,” Madison told Collider. After the movie was released, Madison saw the reaction Dewey’s death had on Scream fans and is now apologizing for what her character did in the film.
