His time as Luke Cage was far from the most defining part of The Defenders saga, but his story ended on such an odd note for such a beloved character that fans are hoping for his return if only to wrap things up in a better way than before. And given Luke Cage’s status as the protector of Harlem, it would make sense for the character to return in one of the most tumultuous times for the city in the entire MCU. Making Luke Cage the mayor would also tee up Mike Colter for a larger role in the MCU, allowing him to cross over with any number of characters.
