Mika Brzezinski Is ‘Mourning the Loss of the Last North Star’ After Jimmy Carter’s Death
Morning Joe's Mika Brzezinski opened up about her family's connection to Jimmy Carter after the former president's death at age 100 and her period of 'mourning.'
“The giants in my life are gone .. With the passing of former President Jimmy Carter, I am mourning the loss of the last North Star who was truly a guiding light for the world, and also my family,” Mika, 57, captioned a carousel of photos on her Instagram account on December 30. “In the first photo, you see Jimmy Carter, next to his beloved wife, Rosalynn, and former Secretary of State Madeline Albright-a close family friend and mentor,” she wrote. My dad, Zbigniew Brzezinski, served as his national security adviser from 1977 to 1981 — from age 10 through my early teen years,” she wrote in the December 29 post.
