The seasoned detective moved from Brighton to Causton CID, stepping into the shoes of his cousin, Chief Inspector Tom Barnaby (played by John Nettles), upon his retirement. Off-screen, he's hitched to BBC Radio producer Mary Peate, and they're proud parents to two kids, reports the Express.
