Mickey singer Toni Basil turns back clock as she looks sensational at 80 - 42 years after hit
Toni Basil still looks incredible 42 years on from her cheerleader anthem pop hit Mickey - and even at 80 years old, she's still able to bust a move better than most
Although Toni is now 80, she's still very much on the showbiz scene with some impressive film choreography credits to her name, and appearing at a recent Grammy Musueum event to mark 40 years of Mickey she turned back the clock to look as stunning as ever. Toni enjoyed a legal victory with Mickey in 2022 when after 40 years, the United States Court of Appeals finally ruled that the rights to the song and its Grammy-nominated video actually lay with her, not the British record company that she made it for. She had made the song a hit with her changes to it and conceived, directed, produced, and choreographed the video herself but claimed that she never profited from the single, going through a nearly 10-year legal battle to prove herself the sole owner of the recording copyright.
