Michael Showalter And Jordana Mollick’s Semi-Formal Productions Inks Multi-Year First-Look Film Deal With Amazon MGM Studios
Michael Showalter's Semi-Formal Productions and Amazon MGM Studios have entered into a multi-year first-look film deal, Deadline can reveal.
Adapted for the screen by Showalter and Westfeldt, the film centers on Solène (Hathaway), a 40-year-old single mom who begins an unexpected romance with 24-year-old Hayes Campbell (Galitzine) — the lead singer of August Moon, the hottest boy band on the planet — while at Coachella with her daughter. Added Showalter and Mollick in a joint statement, “Working with the incredible and brilliant Amazon team has been an absolute dream come true and we could not be more grateful for their unwavering support and deep understanding of our sensibility and the projects we want to make. Emmy-nominated for their work on Hulu’s The Dropout, Showalter and Mollick’s Semi-Formal has also previously produced series including The Shrink Next Door for Apple TV+ and I Love That for You for Showtime.
