Michael McMartin: Legendary music manager of Hoodoo Gurus dead at 79 as the Aussie rock band pays tribute
Michael McMartin, the manager of classic Australian rock band Hoodoo Guru, has died aged 79.
The Canadian-born music industry professional, who led the band's business operations for over forty years, passed away on Sunday after a prolonged illness. 'More like a close family member than a friend or business associate, the history we share and the connection we have will be everpresent in our lives,' the band wrote alongside a throwback picture of their beloved manager. 'Thanks to the Hoodoo Gurus I have lived a life that I only otherwise could have dreamt of,' the artist manager wrote in a statement earlier this year, when he had to step away from his duties due to ill-health
