Michael Keaton's son Sean Douglas is 'super proud' of his Beetlejuice success
While many people regard Night Shift (1982) and Mr. Mom (1983) as Michael Keaton's breakthrough films, it turns out Beetlejuice (1988) ended up trumping them both at the box office.
Set more than three decades after the first Beetlejuice, the story for the dark fantasy comedy horror film follows Lydia Deetz (Winona Ryder), now a mother, struggling to keep her family together in the wake of a loss as the specter Betelgeuse returns to haunt her. He also was part of the rave reviews for the drama television miniseries Dopesick (2021) on Hulu that included the likes of Peter Sarsgaard, Michael Stuhlbarg, Will Poulter, John Hoogenakker, Kaitlyn Dever, and Rosario Dawson. In the comedy, Keaton plays Los Angeles art dealer Andy Goodrich, who seeks out his adult pregnant daughter Grace for help with raising his nine-year-old twins after his wife leaves him and he's entering a 90-day rehab program.
