Michael Keaton Says He ‘Sucked’ in Dumbo: ‘It Bugs Me to This Day’

Michael Keaton shared in a new interview published Tuesday, Aug. 27, that he 'sucked' and was 'clueless' in his 2019 movie 'Dumbo' and 'let down' director Tim Burton.

Based on the 1941 animated classic, the movie follows the journey of a young elephant that goes from being a laughing stock to a circus star. Keaton’s comments about his performance in the movie come after Burton revealed that he considered retiring after making Dumbo. “I could have retired, or become … well, I wouldn’t have become an animator again, that’s over," he laughed, adding that both Wednesday and the Beetlejuice sequel "did reenergize me."
