Michael Douglas, 79, and Catherine Zeta-Jones, 54, list riverfront mansion near NYC for $12 MILLION... as she says it's 'the right time to sell' after their kids moved out

Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones are putting their gorgeous 1920s-era mansion in New York's Westchester County up for sale.

The home, which is located in the tony village of Irvington, New York — only about 20 miles away from the Big Apple — boasts an impressive 12 acres running along the Hudson River, according to their Compass listing agent David Turner. The A-list couple's mansion has an illustrious past, as the land was once owned by the Matthiessen family of sugar merchants, according to the book Irvington (Then And Now) by Anne Marie Leone and Judith Doolin Spikes, via the Wall Street Journal. Turner, the listing agent, noted that Douglas and Zeta-Jones had modernized the home with considerably renovations, though he stressed that they were careful to maintain the historical character of the mansion.
