Jordan, 'The House of Last Resort'Yazz Alali Golden, a Bram Stoker and Shirley Jackson Award-winner who counts Hellboy: The Crooked Man amongst his screenwriting credits, will adapt the book for the screen. Published last January by St. Martin’s Press, The House of Last Resort follows a young American couple who relocate to a Sicilian hill town, where the mayor is selling abandoned homes to foreigners for a single Euro in an effort to revitalize the faltering community, in a move reflective of a recent real-life trend in Italy and other countries. Recently, author Golden has also received the Audie Award for his work in the audio drama space, which has included several Hellboy projects as well as co-writing and co-directing Slayers: A Buffyverse Story with Amber Benson, a massive hit for Audible.
