Mets' Carlos Mendoza Says Sons Were 'Close' With Brett Gardner's Late Son
New York Mets manager Carlos Mendoza emotionally discussed his family’s connection to the Gardner family after they announced the death of their son, Miller
“I’d like to start by sending my thoughts and prayers to Jessica and Brett Gardner on the loss of his son,” Mendoza, 45, said during a Sunday, March 23 press conference. News broke on January 4 that Aubrey Plaza’s estranged husband, Jeff Baena, died one day earlier at the age of 47. “Our love for the Gardner family is unconditional and absolute, and we will offer our enduring support while understanding their desire for privacy at this time,” the statement read in part.
