Metallica announce first Australian tour in more than a decade

Metal giants Metallica will be stopping Down Under as part of their M72 world tour, marking their first Aussie shows in more than ten years.

The tour will mark the first time Metallica will hit Aussie shores since the 2013 Soundwave festival, where they headlined along with Linkin Park and Blink-182. It follows a cancelled Australian stadium tour in 2020, with lead singer and rhythm guitarist James Hetfield having undergone rehab for addiction. The band's first album, Kill 'Em All - released in 1983 - features heavy hits Jump In The Fire and Whiplash, however their 1986 record Master Of Puppets truly solidified them as the kings of metal.
