Met Office warns households to 'fasten doors and windows' as Britain braces itself
The Met Office has issued an urgent storm warning, advising households to securely fasten doors and windows as Ernesto is set to bring powerful winds and heavy rain to the UK.
The Met Office, bracing for high winds reaching up to 70mph, has issued a stark warning for households to "securely fasten doors and windows" as the tempestuous weather is set to buffet Britain later this week. Transformed into an onrushing tempest, Ernesto, as AccuWeather reports, is among a trifecta of turbulent weather patterns thundering towards the UK from Thursday through to the weekend like a fleet of buses. "This storm will moisten the ground so that much of Ernesto's rain may rapidly run off, leading to flash flooding in some areas and water collecting in locations that drain poorly, especially in Scotland."
