Met Office warns everyone in Britain to shut their curtains at 4.30pm

The warning comes amid cold weather across the country...

The Met Office has advised Brits to close their curtains at dusk in a bid to battle plunging temperatures- and keep a lid on jumpy energy prices. The tip was included in the weather service's six-point plan to help householders keep the heat as an "unseasonably chilly" cold snap affects much of the country. The sun currently starts to set at 7.20pm but next month it will have moved dramatically earlier, so by closing them at 4.30pm you should never miss the correct moment.
