Met Office say snow set to blanket parts of the UK as Brits brace for -2C weather

The Met Office has this morning confirmed snow is forecast to fall in the UK this weekend as temperatures plummet, with the worst of the weather expected in northern areas

WX Charts previously predicted up to 18 inches of snow around Saturday 23 November, but now the Met Office anticipates an earlier arrival. Deputy Chief Meteorologist Mark Sidaway commented: "In addition to increased rainfall, which could be heavy at times on Sunday, temperatures will also drop, especially for those in Scotland, as a northerly airflow develops, bringing colder Arctic air to some northern areas." There is a lot of uncertainty by Sunday, but there remain a number of scenarios which could bring some more widespread rain, along with some hill snow and stronger winds.
