Met Office pinpoints exact day first snow will hit Brits as country smashed by Arctic blast

The Met Office has warned that the UK is set to be hit by an Arctic blast on Sunday, with the first snow of the season expected to fall in parts of the country

The Met Office has identified the precise day when the first snow is expected to hit the UK, with the country potentially facing an Arctic blast on Sunday. Met Office Deputy Chief Meteorologist Rebekah Hicks explains: "A notable early winter cold spell will arrive across the north from Sunday and will likely reach all parts of the UK by midweek. Bad weather may make it difficult for people to get out for essential shopping or medical appointments, so we'd urge everyone to check in on older family, friends and neighbours during this period to find out if they need any extra support.
