The Met Office has sounded the alarm with an amber weather warning, alerting to treacherous travel conditions and potential power cuts this weekend due to heavy snow and icy rain. As the country braces itself for a full week of wintery blasts, stranded vehicles, flight cancellations or delays, and disrupted rail service compound the weekend's rough forecast.
