Met Office issues 'stay up to date' alert with warnings of rain, wind and snow
The Met Office has warned people to stay up to date with the forecast as the weather is set to turn more unsettled with rain and snow expected to feature in the coming days
This comes as high pressure, which has been responsible for the mainly dry weather this week, gradually subsides, allowing winds from the north or northwest to sweep in, reports Wales Online. Deputy Chief Meteorologist at the Met Office, Mark Sidaway, explained: "The high pressure that has been responsible for the mainly dry weather through much of this week will retrogress into the Atlantic as we get towards the weekend. In addition to this increased rainfall, which could be heavy at times on Sunday, temperatures will also drop, especially for those in Scotland, as a northerly airflow develops, bringing colder Arctic air to some northern areas.
