Meryl Streep To Receive Cannes Film Festival’s Honorary Palme d’Or
The Academy Award-winning actress’s attendance of the festival will mark her first trip to Cannes since accompanying Fred Schepisi’s Evil Angels a Cry in the Dark in 1989 for which she won best actress. The actress has appeared in two other Cannes selected films across her career, kicking off Woody Allen’s Manhattan, which played Out of Competition in 1979, and Tommy Lee Jones’ The Homesman which played in Competition in 2014.
