Menéndez Brothers’ Family Slams Ryan Murphy’s ‘Monsters’ As “Repulsive”
Following the Netflix debut of 'Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menéndez Story', the brothers' family is criticizing Ryan Murphy's depiction.
“Ryan Murphy’s Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menéndez Story is a phobic, gross, anachronistic, serial episodic nightmare that is not only riddled with mistruths and outright falsehoods but ignores the most recent exculpatory revelations. Murphy claims he spent years researching the case but in the end relied on debunked Dominick Dunne, the pro-prosecution hack, to justify his slander against us and never spoke to us. Although Erik and Lyle were convicted of first-degree murder in 1996 and sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole, their attorney Mark Geragos told People he’s “cautiously optimistic” that new family testimonies will help get the case reduced to voluntary manslaughter.
