Earlier this year, Us Weekly confirmed that Cope filed to end her marriage to Lawrence on Wednesday, August 21, two months after their listed date of separation. “As a mother who values her daughter above all else, I find these false accusations deeply troubling,” Cope, 37, told Us Weekly in a statement on Thursday, August 29. In August 2021, Us exclusively broke the news that Lawrence and Cope were engaged, with Joey subsequently taking to social media to gush about their relationship.
