Mel Gibson On If He’ll Direct ‘Lethal Weapon 5’ Or ‘The Passion Of The Christ’ Sequel First: “It’s Really A Crapshoot At This Point”
Mel Gibson is set to direct Lethal Weapon 5 and a sequel to The Passion of the Christ and shared an update on what he could direct first.
“I don’t know, and that’s the funny thing, I mean, there’s various obstacles to getting any film up on its feet, and not just budgetary, but there’s like, there’s 1,000,001 reason why something goes and why it doesn’t,” Gibson told ComicBook. Gibson teased that the fifth installment of Lethal Weapon would tackle “a couple of hard issues ” but also be funny. Gibson is also attached to direct a sequel to 2004’s The Passion of the Christ, which would focus on the Resurrection.
