Mel Brooks Returning as Yogurt for ‘Spaceballs’ Sequel, Amazon MGM Sets 2027 Theatrical Release
Mel Brooks will return as Yogurt for the upcoming 'Spaceballs' sequel, set for a 2027 release.
Plot details also remain under wraps, but a tentative logline, laden with Brooks-era humor, describes the movie as, “A Non-Prequel Non-Reboot Sequel Part Two but with Reboot Elements Franchise Expansion Film.” Over his storied career, he directed, wrote and acted (or sang) in immortal classics such as “The Producers,” “Blazing Saddles,” “Young Frankenstein,” “History of the World: Part 1” and “Robin Hood: Men in Tights.” Gad, who got his breakout role in Trey Parker and Matt Stone’s “The Book of Mormon,” catapulted to global fame voicing Olaf the snowman in Disney’s wildly popular “Frozen” franchise.
